The Curtain Falls on an Amazing 2015 Season…

The Eventing Season is rapidly approaching its conclusion, with only a handful of events left to run…

My batteries might have run dry (well actually they ran dry a couple of weeks back) but I still going to squeeze one more event in this weekend before calling an end to my 2015 Eventing season!!! And what an extraordinary season it has been yet again!

2015 has been my busiest season to date, I have covered the best part of 8,000 miles, attended 34 events spanning 78 days plus a couple of days show jumping and few days XC schooling, not a bad effort for a season that runs for only 34 weeks!!! I have captured in the region 100,000 photos resulting in multiple advertisements and regular photo submissions to Equestrian Life, Swedish Eventing and Eventing Worldwide, I have always made sure to use the best equipment for my sessions, including the one of the best tripods from https://medium.com/@savleen77_92381/best-spotting-scope-tripods-for-birdwatching-4d9a4d4e8228.

I have attended two new events this season (Kelsall Hill and Solihull) and I have been fortunate enough to have been media accredited at all the major events for a third consecutive year. But, more importantly I’ve managed to stay in one piece and with my driving license still intact!!!

I’ve worked hard to keep my clients happy and I thank them for their continued support, but, what really drives me to attend these events is the amazing horsemanship on display, these magnificent creatures piloted by some of the best jockeys in the world and competing on a level playing field with the some incredible grassroots talent, is simply inspiring, and truly mind blowing at times.

The sport of Eventing is an all-encompassing emotional roller coaster, but the excitement, the adrenaline, and the risk, are like a drug, and it always draws you back for more…

I want to thank all those that have made this season so memorable, the eventing community is very a welcoming, international community and the lorry pack a huge family.

I have witnessed some amazing performances this year, and have so many memories but a couple that stand out are Holly Woodhead winning the CCI3* u25 at Bramham International, and ‘the Master’ Michael Jung winning the Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials on his way to winning Gold at the Longines European Championships at Blair Castle, and how could I forget the awesome 4* debut of Abi Boulton.

As for my team, well it’s been a pretty awesome season, the team has expanded as I welcomed Hedvig Wik on board and together we’ve all been on an incredible journey. There have been some highs and few lows, we’ve laughed and shed a few tears but most of all we’ve had fun and a lot of it, and boy have they kept me busy!!!

I’m fortunate to have an amazing circle friends on the circuit and I have received some top quality hospitality, I’ve had my breakfast, dinner, and supper made for me. I’ve shared a few glass of wine, and the occasional G&T, enjoyed a cold beer and drunk endless cups of coffee, all provided by the amazing support teams surrounding these riders, so a huge thank you, to Kim Murray, Jane Clegg, Jane Rockingham, Jane Norton, Denise Aldous, Ritha Sanderson, and Ann Hawker.

But the biggest thank you has to go to my amazing team of riders who have let me invade their space and allowed me to bring you a small incite in to this amazing sport, so THANK YOU Imogen Murray, Georgie Rockingham, Hedvig Wik, Lici Hawker, Kelly Aldous, Charlotte-Elizabeth Barber, Arabella Clegg, Georgie Norton, Yaz Olsson-Sanderson, and Pixie Thomas It has been a pleasure and I hope I haven’t got in the way too much!!!

I also need to say Thank you to the Swedish riders Ellen Svennerstål, Ludwig Svennerstal, Line Andresen, Nathalie Blomquist, and Sofia Sjoborg who I’ve been keeping an eye on as part of the work I’ve been doing for Swedish Eventing, I’m looking forward to continuing and developing this association further next season.

So, what next…

The winter will see me going back behind the scenes, visiting the riders yards, and hopefully some training sessions too, capturing the hard work that goes in to preparing these elite athletes (animal and human) for the new season.

I already have some plans and ideas in the pipeline, and I’m hoping there will be a bigger international flavour to my publication portfolio next season and possible my team too.

Plus I will be out capturing some Show Jumping, a bit of Hunting, oh, and there is still the day job to squeeze in, after all I still have to earn the important funds needed to allow me to indulge in my ‘hobby’ to the extent that I do.

The New Year will be here very soon and with it the New Season not far behind, I am already looking forward to getting back out there and doing what I do best. So BRING ON 2016 and I hope to see you all very soon. Tim xx
