Georgie Rockingham
Georgie Rockingham is an ambitious; highly competitive 23 year old Event Rider, based in Derbyshire competing up to CCI**
Georgie has set her targets high for 2016, but, I have no doubt she will succeed in achieving her goals.
Georgie began riding at the age of four, but it wasn’t until she was ten, that she had her own horse. Since then she has not looked back, the eventing bug has well and truly encapsulated her life.
Georgie expects to become a full-time eventer, however in the mean time she is continuing with her studies in order to gain some necessary qualifications just in case things don’t quite go to plan and to satisfy her family who believe she should have a fall back plan.
Georgie is currently training Jeanette Brakewell. She believes hard work and quality training is the key to success.
Pony Club is also very important part to Georgie and her on going education in riding. She is a regularly attendee of Pony Club rallies and is currently working towards her AH test, having completed both her B and B+ tests.
Georgie will be competing three horses in 2016. SEPTEMBER SONG (Sonnie) a 7yo Bay Gelding. OLARIS BEECH (Katrina) a 5yo Grey Mare, and KEEFORD CA CHING (Kiki) a 9yo Bay Mare.
Competition is what drives Georgie and whilst she would never put sportsmanship before horsemanship she is constantly striving to achieve her best and that means one thing; the red rosette for 1st place.
Georgie’s highlight for 2015 was the Retraining of Racehorse class at Barbury International, where she finished in 2nd place behind Sir Mark Todd after the second round of showing jump in the Main Arena on the Sunday.
Plan for 2016:
Georgie has different aims for all of her horses:
September Song (Sonnie): Will start the year competing at Novice and 1* with the view to go Intermediate towards the back end of the season.
Olaris Beech (Katrina) will competing in the 5yo classes and the British Young Event Horse (BYEH) classes.
All of this will only be possible with the continued help, training and support she receives from Jeanette Brakewell, and of course her Mum (Jane) and Dad (Ian).
